Multiple Dental Implants — 60-Second Answer

🌍 For international patients: This page covers partial tooth loss (a few missing teeth). If you have no remaining teeth in an arch, see our All-on-4 / All-on-6 guide. For single-tooth detail and full brand pricing, see Dental Implants Turkey; for travel logistics, the Dental Tourism Istanbul guide.
When Do You Need Multiple Implants?
This approach suits you if you are missing two or more teeth in one or both jaws and your remaining teeth and gums are healthy. Each implant is a titanium screw placed in the jawbone that, once healed, supports its own crown — so the restoration looks and functions like a natural tooth.
Two common configurations:
- Individual implants — one implant per missing tooth, ideal when the gaps are not adjacent.
- Implant-supported bridge — for several adjacent missing teeth, fewer implants than teeth can carry a fixed bridge (for example, 3 missing teeth on 2 implants). This is often the most cost-effective fixed option.
Unlike a conventional tooth-supported bridge, implants do not require grinding down the healthy neighbouring teeth and they preserve the bone where the tooth was lost.
Implants vs a Conventional Bridge
| Criterion | Multiple Implants | Conventional Bridge |
|---|---|---|
| Neighbouring teeth | Untouched | Ground down to anchor the bridge |
| Bone preservation | Yes — stimulates the bone | No — bone resorbs under the gap |
| Lifespan | Very long with good care | Typically 10–15 years |
| Care | Like natural teeth | Special cleaning under the pontic |
| Best for | Healthy adjacent teeth, long-term result | When implants are not possible |
For several missing teeth in a row, implants are usually the more durable and tooth-preserving choice than a long span bridge. According to PubMed-indexed research, implant-supported fixed dental prostheses have a 5-year survival of about 95.4% (DOI).
The Value of Digital (3D) Planning
Every implant case begins with a 3D CBCT scan. From it, the position of each implant is planned digitally, and where needed a surgical guide is produced so placement is precise and minimally invasive. Because treatment is led by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, limited bone or unusual anatomy (requiring sinus lifting or bone grafting) is managed in-house rather than referred out. See guided implant surgery and pre-implant CBCT.
Treatment Stages
1. Examination & 3D planning
Intraoral examination, CBCT scan and digital planning of each implant position.
2. Implant placement
Under local anaesthesia, the implants are placed in the jawbone. This visit takes 1–2 days.
3. Healing (3–4 months)
Osseointegration — the implants fuse with the bone. You are home during this period; we stay in contact by WhatsApp.
4. Crown placement
At a second visit, a digital impression is taken and the permanent crowns (or implant bridge) are fitted.
Multiple Implant Cost in Istanbul (2026)
International patients receive a written estimate in EUR or GBP before travelling, after we review your CBCT scan.
| Scope | Indicative range (£ / €) |
|---|---|
| Single implant + crown | £305–1,510 / €355–1,755 (brand-dependent) |
| Implant-supported bridge (3–4 teeth on 2–3 implants) | from ~£900 / €1,050 |
| Several individual implants + crowns | scales with the number of implants |
The exact total depends on the number of implants, the implant brand, the crown material, and whether additional procedures (sinus lift, bone graft) are needed. For full per-brand pricing and the single-tooth breakdown, see Dental Implants Turkey.
What's included
- CBCT scan and digital planning
- Implants (Straumann / Nobel Biocare / Megagen / Osstem — all CE / FDA approved)
- Implant placement under local anaesthesia
- Permanent crowns at the second visit
- Translation support and transfer coordination
- 12 months of remote follow-up by WhatsApp / email
Timeline — Two Visits
Visit 1 (1–2 days): examination, CBCT, implant placement.
Healing (3–4 months at home): osseointegration, remote follow-up.
Visit 2 (2–3 days): digital impression and fitting of the permanent crowns or bridge.
For patients who want a fixed result on the same trip, immediate/same-day options are assessed case by case from your CBCT.
